Jennifer Berard, PTA

Jennifer has worked at Scaccia PT since December of 2002. She joined the staff full time in April of 2003.   She graduated from Hesser College  with an Associate in Science degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant - in 2002.  Prior to and during college, Jen gained extensive experience in the PT field, having worked as an Aide for many years.

Jen's manual skills go hand in hand with her vast exercise background.  Jen played Tennis in high school  and college and was a finalist in the singles division as a freshman at Colby Sawyer.  She continues to compete in sprint triathalons and enjoys running, tennis, and weight training. 

Jen has participated in numerous continuing education classes to advance her skills.  She specializes in soft tissue and myofascial mobilization and massage to improve range of motion, decrease pain, and ultimately, improve function.  She treats each individual with care and will spend as much time as is needed to achieve a positive outcome.

 Emily Marotta, PTA

Emily graduated from Hesser College's Physical Therapist' Assistant program in 2005.  While at Hesser, she received the clincal excellence award in her senior year. After interning at Scaccia PT, Emily joined the staff full time for two years before reducing her hours to return to school.  She has been accepted to the doctoral Physical Therapy program at Franklin Pierce University where she will graduate in 2010.  She continues to work part time at Scaccia PT&SC.

Emily's mix of personality and attention to detail combine to make her an excellent clinician.  She is attentive to the patient and is able to work aggressively when it is necessary to achieve results.  She enjoys the manual aspect of therapy, taking the time to work the soft tissues via mobilization and massage to acheive the desired outcome.  Her positive attitude makes the patients comfortable and confident.

Emily has an extensive athletic background as a competitive swimmer.  She now utilizes her swimming expertise with biking and running to compete in area triathalons.  She has completed multiple sprint traithalons and is aiming to add longer triathalons to her resume'. 

Sean Allen, DPT

Sean Allen earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at UMass-Lowell and has since joined the staff as a Physical Therapist starting in September of 2008.  He recieved a clinical excellence award during his third year as a graduate student. He is a licensed Physical Therapist in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Sean previously worked for Scaccia PT for five years as a PT aide and as a strength coach for Complete Athlete for the past four.  He received his undergraduate Bachelor's degree from UMass-Lowell in Exercise Physiology with a minor in nutrition. 
Sean enjoys working for a Private Physical Therapy practice, where he has the freedom to provide the utmost care to his patients. As a new therapist, Sean is active in pursuing continuing education courses that focus on manual techniques and joint mobilization. His extensive exercise background has proven beneficial for both rehabiliation as well as strength and conditioning clients.
